Movimento + Sunset Plaza Beauty Boutique Event

Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the Movimento and Sunset Plaza Beauty Boutique Event. I found out about this event through a site called Brand Backer, it connects bloggers and brands.  The event was held at the Sunset Plaza Beauty Boutique, 8604 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90069. This place is a one stop shop. They have everything beauty related from hair care to make up, wonderfully smelling candles and a great selection of jewelry. They also have a great grooming section for men. The newest addition to this already fabulous line up is Movimento. The bloggers were gifted a goodie bag of full size products that I cannot wait to try.  At the event I met the designer of Movimento, Whitney. We had been messaging for about a week prior and it was nice to put a face to a name. The line consists of faux leather moto inspired jackets and gloves, faux leather leggings with sexy cut-outs and hand dyed scarves and harem pants. This is How We Do It presented by Issa Rae

So earlier this week I saw on Facebook that a college friend of mine had a flashback to the 90s party for his birthday and I was like "Dang wish I was in ATL so I could have gone." 2 days later I find out that Issa Rae is having a flashback to the 90s party to preview her summer lineup of shows. The party was aptly named "This Is How We Do It" and was held at the Papillion Art Gallery in Leimert Park. So needless to say I was all about it... now to find an outfit. I literally had a few hours to put together an outfit and what do I find? Genuine FUBU shorts. Yes someone in 2014 still had a pair of FUBU shorts. See below some of my favorite moments from the event and shoutout to Apryl for her photog skills.

My favorite DJ, DJ R Tistic. He kept the 90s hits going all night. He had on hoop earrings and La Gears.

Clueless Screening

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the LA Film Fest they held an outdoor screening at LA Live of Clueless. When I found out about the screening I was super geeked. Clueless has been my movie since the first time I saw it. I was partly excited that they were going to be showing the movie but mstly that some of the cast would be there. The screening also included the writer/director and costume designer.

A few days ago I met my dad and step-mom downtown for a little jewelry shopping and a late lunch. it was a bit hot out so I wanted a light weight fabric. I saw this dress tucked away in my closet. I bought this dress over a year ago at the Rose Bowl Flea Market and had never worn it. If you live in Southern California the Rose Bowl Flea Market is a must for vintage enthusiasts.
